Mountain Mustangs are descendants of horses brought to the
new world by the Spanish Conquistadors. Having been taken
in raids and brought to the prairies, then escaping to the
wild, these horses survived many generations of natural
selection to become what they are today.
"The time during which they were essentially 'wild'
did not erase their apparent genetic attributes, of curiosity
and the ability to bond with humans easier than other breeds."
